College Puma began in 2013 as a simple consultant firm that assisted students with FASFA and student loan applications. We soon realized that students were not being properly instructed on the opportunities available to them to pay for college. In fact, some $2.6 Billion in grants went unclaimed for the 2019-2020 academic year.
The main concern we heard from students and parents who wanted to learn more about financial aid was the cost of private advising. In response, we set a goal to provide an affordable and comprehensive program that would provide students and their families quality advising, at a fraction of the cost.
Under the supervision of experts who specialized in curriculum and instruction, our executive leadership team pooled their collective knowledge and produced the first iteration of our College Puma Pay for College Program. Since then, our platform, support system, and outreach have grown exponentially.
Since our initial online launch in 2016, we have helped over 1,100 students earn over $48,246,000 in collective grants, scholarships, and loans - giving them the peace of mind to excel in their studies.
College Puma has set out to help students of all financial backgrounds navigate the college financial aid process. We believe that by centralizing the most updated and relevant information, more students will come to the realization that attending a college or university is not only a possibility, but easily within reach.
With a combination of private academic advisor guidance, robust online program, and a responsive support team, our hope is that students from all walks of life are given the tools to take the next step in their academic journey – without breaking the bank.
Giovanni holds a B.S. in Aviation Sciences and a Master's in Economics from Florida Atlantic University. Giovanni is the founder of College Puma, our chief advisor, a commercial airline pilot, former financial analyst, and a licensed loan officer.
Junet holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Atlantic University and is a state-certified educator of Spanish and Mathematics. Junet has taught at the Palm Beach County school district for the past 16 years.
Carlos holds a B.S. and M.S. in Finance from the University of Florida. He is a licensed analyst and former consultant with Accenture Inc. Carlos heads our market expansion division by managing the establishment of new partnerships.
Corey holds a B.S. in Aviation from Liberty University and is seeking his M.S. in Business Administration (Finance) from Florida Atlantic University. Corey also holds a Facebook Blueprint Certificate and Google Marketing Platform Certificate.
All executive staff serve as academic advisors. They are also members of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and maintain annual currency with the FAFSA Completion Assistance Certification Program.
